An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time, permanent Site Supervisor / Team Leader / Foreman to join our growing site works team.
NOTE: This position is for Shetland domiciled candidates only. No travel and accommodation will be provided with this role and mainland based candidates need not apply.
Job Overview
Reporting to the Site Manager, the purpose of this role is to lead a small team carrying out various civils projects. You will be responsible for planning and safely managing all site works using both your own initiative and following the instruction of your Line Manager and the client.
Your Responsibilities and Duties will include:
- Planning and organising the day-to-day work to be done on site
- Ensuring the safe system of work is being followed and all employees are working safely
- Liaising with client supervisors / site managers
- Submitting material and plant / equipment requests
- Ensuring that all receipts to site are formally received, recorded, and processed
- Ensuring daily plant / equipment checks are being carried out
- Keeping up to date site diaries / daywork records / Confirmation of Verbal Instructions (CVI’s)
- Carrying out daily briefings / toolbox talks
- Ensuring attendance sheets are filled in each morning
- Monitoring the quality of the work being carried out
- Ensuring that tools/equipment used on site have undergone necessary maintenance and are in safe working order
- Understand and adhere to the company and department standards, policies and procedures
- Maintain confidentiality regarding the company’s business / employees / clients / customers / visitors
- Liaise with, and follow instructions from all senior employees
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all colleagues
- Any other duties as directed by Management
Essential Qualifications and Attributes:
- Experience within the civil engineering or building industry
- CPCS or NPORS Plant Operator
- Full, valid Driver Licence
The following Qualifications and Attributes are desirable, but not essential as training will be provided:
- CITB Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS)
- New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA)
- First Aid at Work

Schedule:
- 40 hours per week, minimum
- Overtime regularly available (x1.5 and x2)
- Hours can vary depending on client requirements
